Dark Dawn was a decent attempt at reviving the series, but it was unnecessary, especially with the way it ended too. From what I read years ago, the first two games were supposed to be one game, but the GBA cart couldn't handle that, so they had to split the games up. The first two games were also supposed to represent the "prequel" for the real story, which was what Dark Dawn was meant to hearken.
