The first generation Pokemon games were diamonds in the rough - they created an excellent formula for the games that followed, but their actual execution was not great (psychic being horrendously overpowered, half the types only having a few moves to their name, etc.). And while ES fanboys love to sing Morrowind's praises, it's very much a product of its time and there's a reason why Oblivion and Skyrim did away with a lot of its more obtuse elements.

I can't get back into morrowind mainly cause of the landing a hit being tied to a stat. Ok my stat for that weapon is low. Make my damage really weak not "miss" even though I see my weapon go through their head.

Only thing amusing about it was that one wood elf that was basically the toughest opponent in the game due to his absurd luck Stat.
