The real benefit behind NFTs is that all transactions are transparent, you can see exactly what account gets what money for whatever. Perhaps in the future, you could see what politicians are receiving what kind of lobby money from where or what exact work has been done on a car you wanna buy from where etc and how much it's marked up. That also means competition has to mark up or down fairly since everyone can see everything.
The other benefit is that ownership of anything can be moved around so yeah stuff like used digital games or movies or maybe even subscriptions could be traded around.

I agree that this stuff is kinda pointless for now but I think the aspect of total market transparency is a great thing.
