They want to collectively generate enough unsubstantiated hype (The same kind that made people buy No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk) so they can buy in cheap and then scam people with what would otherwise be laughable, unjustifiable prices for pictures which are vaguely touted as being "the future" or "the latest world changing technology".
