That said, I do think it's shitty when a lot of liberals/leftists, especially those living in big cities with great public transport, mock people who complain about gas prices or pretend cars are unnecessary. I live in a fairly rural-ish area where lots of people commute anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours for work. Luckily I work at home now, but prior to that I had to drive 45 minutes each way. Gas prices are absolutely an issue for people here. My tank that used to cost ~$36 to fill up now costs more than twice that.
