I get what they're going for but it's hilariously misguided.

You don't have to celebrate America if you don't want to. That's totally fine. But your wage slaving employers have given you a free precious day off of your wage slaving life. If you aren't going to take advantage of it on the notion that you're sending a message or making an impact, then I'm sorry but you're delusional.

The only thing that would even remotely catch my eye (which still would change nothing) would be if someone said not to celebrate 4th of july and voluntarily went into work that day. Ineffectiveness aside, at least you're sticking to your convictions.
