then fucking do it. and if you want to stop republicans then do more than just vote.

Voting is not going to stop Republicans. Republicans are winning despite being the minority because they're willing to actually take action and because our government is setup in such a way where being a partisan obstructionist is ridiculously easy. Republicans know this and abuse it to their advantage.

Look. If you feel you need to vote, vote. It's probably the only thing you actually can do within the confines of the system that "feels" productive. But be realistic and realize that nothing is actually going to change unless the American populace as a whole is willing to disrupt the system and work outside of it.

"Vote blue, no matter who" is not a winning strategy and should not be the message we send to people who want to fix this shit. People forget that so many Democrats, especially now, are simply moderate Republicans who have been alienated by the GOP. Sinema and Manchin are Democrats. People voted them in, did exactly what they are told, and yet they might as well be Republicans, because all they've done is help Republicans.

And speaking on that, someone else brought up a very good point. Liberals will go out to the primaries, get cold feet and vote for the safe moderate option who tells you dead to your face that the Republican Party needs to be strong over progressive candidates who have been warning us the entire time that the Republican Party is too far gone and drastic action needs to be taken against them. But then place the blame squarely on people who don't vote without any sense of self-awareness lmao

If non-voters are to blame for the rise of the Republican Party, then so too are the people voting blindly for Democrats that seek to preserve a status quo that the Republicans have created.
