Topic	any fun pokemon challenge runs that don't have permadeath?

As much as people say "lol just use your starter to stomp the game," it can be incredibly fun to see exactly what roadblocks hold up given pokemon, and finding ways around them. Take omanyte. Stomp Brock, mt moon, nugget bridge, maybe even misty if you're lucky. But a random lass with two oddosh that only know absorb? while your only move is likely water gun? Damn near the final boss of the game, right there. What's your plan? Bide? Struggle? how do you even burn enough pp to GET struggle, while having enough hp left?
