Also, separating from a country does not mean having to become entirely self reliant. The new country just needs to set up proper relations with other countries, including the one they seceded from.

Lmao there are social services they are provided by the federal government that their state would not be able to afford to take over.

What relationships can they build that would fix that? The US fed isn't going to pay citizens in a different country social security or give them Medicare.

Texas can't even afford to fix their own power grid. Or maybe they can but their politicians are so useless they won't. There's no part of that that will make a successful country.
