Yes, seriously. In the books he can destroy planets and pull the engines from Star Destroyers.

In the Disney films he dies from being kinda tired.
Because Luke was written to be dumb and "Force Projected" himself across the galaxy.

Instead of spending all that extra time to fly in his X-Wing to the other side of Ice Cave mountain range.

Then Force Project from the safety of the Cave onto the Desert Salt Flats.

Luke "Over Exerted" himself because he didn't use Force Prediction to realize where his friends should've gone to escape.

He could've easily lived and just have been waiting near the exit of the Ice Cave and Force Projecting across the mountain range.

Instead of wasting time projecting across multiple light years.

He could've just projected across a few dozen kilometers.
