Why not at least ask your boss about the Kickstarter stuff? Like just a casual, "is he okay to work with if he does this shit" kinda thing? That'll peak someone's interest for sure. Tbf the kickstarter was almost 10 years ago, and I feel like it'd make me look kind of petty to bring it up.
