So how good is the Remake anyway? Yeah, I'm aware of the thing that disappointed people, but how is the actual reinterpretation and the gameplay?

I loved it. The characters were fantastically recreated and not boring, one-note representations like the rest of the Compilation. The gameplay is super addicting and difficult, the music is absolutely amazing, and the boss fights are exciting.

The only things I'd say needed work were some of the filler dragged on too long, the level design needs work (it's mostly linear pathways that interconnect like a spider-web), and...well, the Dementor-esque ghosts that fly around kinda ruin some moments.

Also, put aside the notion that this is gonna be a straight retelling of the entire FFVII story and I think you'll have a really good time.
