I don't mind / kinda like the Nancy / Steve subplot resurgence because, for once, it doesn't feel forced - he's genuinely a much better person than he used to be. The problem I do have with it is that it's symptomatic of the writers not knowing what to do with Jonathan anymore, and further leaving him out to dry.

Honestly, this brings up another complaint of mine.

Steve really seems to be one of the few characters to have grown throughout the show. His character has really changed forms...everyone else? Eh, idk.

Runner up is probably Hopper. Most of the kids are pretty much the same.

Also in S4, Jonathan and Will could have all been replaced by two wooden boards and I don't think anyone would have noticed a difference.
