TopicWhy do people judge Leonardo Dicaprio for dating younger women?

This is true.

There's women who have seething hatred over the centuries old fact that the majority of wealthy successful men gravitate towards younger partners around 18-25 (the wealthier and higher sexual market value he has with women, the HIGHER chance he will aim for younger partners, period). Because they can. Women will jump into a wealthy successful man's boat. The more exceptional partners he has access to, the LESS likely he is to ever settle down and get married. This basically bars women of higher age from snagging that sweet honeypot either as a wife or divorcee (a pot they were not entitled to in the first place). And they HATE this fact.

There's also men who typically lack success and similar privileges that get bent of shape hearing another man is pulling off an attractive arrangement that they can't. This is especially true when said men are either single or in unhappy relationships themselves. Outside of unlikely opportunities for sabotage, these men will turn to shaming tactics similar to the angry women. It's all they really can do.

And it's funny because both these groups could have more peace of mind by simply aiming for other partners who are not these elite men. The bitter women could settle down with regular middle class men (of which there is no shortage). And the bitter men could just buck the fuck up, find a great girlfriend and focus on their own relationship (again, plenty of eligible women looking for partners too, they're not all golddiggers).

People still salty over Leonardo Dicaprio at nearly 50 dating women half his age really are either jealous, sexist, or both. They completely overlook the fact that these young women have their own agency and make their own decisions. They are choosing to date Dicaprio, enjoying his resources and status. Instead the critics only throw shade at Dicapio and infantilize the women he dates (sexism on both counts).

It often really does come down to a situation of petty jealousy, as funny and predictable as that is.
