As a bisexual, I think it is no big deal, or at least it shouldn't be. Personally I have the luxury of living in a relatively sort of progressive-minded city and being confident enough not to care too much what other people think of me just as long as I'm happy with myself, though I understand that not everyone has that luxury, and in their experience makes clear deliberate statements like these is still necessary.

Ideally I hope we hope we reach a Star Trek kind of mentality (the good kind, not the Kelvin universe bs kind) where none of these things matter and sentient being are just treated respectfully for who they are, without having to make a big deal out of it.
