It means southern pride to a hell of a lot more people than it does supporting the actual confederacy. Probably more people than actually supported the confederacy during the war. That said, no great loss. The people who wave it are typicaly morons whichever way you slice it.Why reclaim it? It's first two claims were "Committing treason because we want to own black people" and "intimidating black people so they stop thinking they deserve equal rights". Burn the shit to ash and then piss on the ashes.
