I had a job interview about two weeks ago and it went well. I have a friend who works at this location and they said that the manager there wants to hire me and schedule me. The manager really liked my interview and complimented me a lot to my friend. That night, after my interview, I got an email requesting my references so they could contact them. So I sent them the next morning. They reached out to my references the following week, asking to have a brief conversation over the phone or via email and both of my references replied with times they are available to talk but the manager never got back to them after that. It's now 10 days later from that. As far as I have been told, no one else has been hired so I'm not worried that they went in a different direction. Should I be contacting them about this and ask where they are in the hiring process or let them take their time? During the interview they did mention they want to have people hired in June so they can start onboarding before July...

I also don't want to be pushy because I am unemployed right now and do need this job to work out
