It's so dumb. It's like saying people should be allowed to drive as drunk as they want, we should look at their mental health after they crash their car.

Fortunately we don't have a nationwide obsession with driving drunk.

It's the obsession over guns that is the core of the issue. Kids grow up in families that shove guns down their throat. There is nothing inherently wrong with guns themselves. The issue is that America as a whole obsesses over them to the point where they value them as much if not more than human lives.
