IIRC, positivity in this sense (fat is beautiful) seems to have been one attempt at dismantling the patriarchy by countering the so-called male gaze on more slender female physiques, which businesses have been profiting from for 80 years or more. I say 80+ because, as has been pointed out by others, slightly large women were also viewed as attractive before all this. Regardless, I dont think its conservative women that have been spearheading this modern campaign at all. I appreciated reading the other points you made as well, btw. --- ... ...
