Has anyone explained the goal of this supposed pro-obesity agenda.

Surely there must be a reason for the left or whoever to do such a thing. There would need to be a benefit. And how does one marry that with also complaining about the left pushing organic and vegan food, saving the planet, and listening to doctors?

Well, I wasn't able to attend the last meeting at the Leftist Global Headquarters, so I'll just have to give my personal take on it: in the early to mid-2010's, Americans collectively and subconsciously decided that it was simply easier to alter our standards of beauty than lose a little weight (it's still hilarious to me that The Daily Show's America: The Book accurately predicted the timing of this trend way back in 2004). Advertisers realized that there was a growing (pun intended) market for plus-sized women, and the media followed suit, because there was money to be had in promoting it. Money money money is both the motivation and the end-goal.

It's wasn't inherently a political thing, and still isn't. The only reason it's remotely political is that liberals, by their very nature, tend to promote body positivity more than conservatives; that shouldn't suggest that all leftists are unquestioningly cheering people on for being proudly overweight.
