A lot of the shortage stems from similac having a huge recall on most, if not, all of their product. Forcing parents to run out and purchase other brands.

Coupled with the never ending supply chain issues and the turmoil in Ukraine.

Plus I am going to safely assume scalpers are an issue as well, buying up whatever inventory they can get their hands on as well as the families that will buy up the shelves out of fear they will never resupply.

Also - for those parents here that depend on formula. IF you ever needed a substitute, goat milk is very very similar to human breast milk and very nutritious. Its the next best thing.

Goat milk does not have enough folate. And some studies show it is associated with high rates of anemia.

If someone is just having a baby, just try your best to breastfeed. No worries about formula then. And unlike when I breastfed insurance companies have to pay for the breast pump.

Fenugreek can help get the flow going but I am truly afraid some crazy ass state will soon ban it. Because if you take it prior to giving birth it can cause contractions and might cause a miscarriage.
