I've only been in the air twice (window seat, over the wing both times) but I have spent countless hours in flight sims. Went over to a buddies one day when the guys were playing this WWII air combat sim, I started criticizing the guy currently playing and when he got shot down he passed the controls to me, with the warning it was set to realistic controls; after ten minutes of flying circles around the Luftwaffe and causing a couple of Messerschmitts to crash into a couple of palm trees that I flew sideways through, he was telling me to go fuck myself. Good times.

I switched planes to the Seafire (Spitfire naval variant) and got him to the check point, so he was happy enough.
