Knew I was forgetting something. That's a naming trainwreck all around. Xbox, 360, that was fine, but then One, the semi-upgrade One X, and finally the Series X and S, which are to be collectively called... Xbox.

As much of a sequential nightmare as it is, I think it still works from a marketing standpoint, since they're unique. It's very hard to mess up if your kid asks for an "Xbox One," or an "Xbox Series X," since they're distinct names. It's not like the "Wii U," which directly followed the "Wii" and confused people all around.

Sequential naming nightmare? Absolutely. Marketing nightmare? Not so much.

I don't really count "One X" as an issue, since that's no different than "PS4 Pro" and the like. It's ultimately the same console. Which, at the end of the day, made "Wii U" even worse.
