Funny story: I once purchased the Ruffles Sour Cream and Onion(around 2015) and they tasted like the Chedder ones. I like them both but was kind of upset because I wanted Sour Cream and Onion.

So I called up the phone number for them, I think it was on the bag, and complained. Not like a Karen or whatever, nicely and politely. Even laughed about it. But their reaction took me by surprise. They took it VERY seriously. Had me put the bag in the fridge and sent me a return package. Sent me like $25 voucher/coupon to get more chips.

I never understood their reaction til this day. Youd think I said I found a pube in them(like I did at Red Robins, a story for another time).

I had a buddy who used to call in complaints periodically just to get vouchers for free stuff. Got a few free cases of beer out of it, though at least a couple of those times were valid complaints. I definitely did it once when I bought a case of flat beer. I think they know that fuck-ups happen in their manufacturing process on a regular basis, and it's cheaper and easier just to send you a voucher than to try to fix the root causes of the problems and drastically slow down production.
