The twist ending was, Wagner had every right to be an asshole, because he was a genius. My takeaway was "haven't heard this wagner's music (i didn't even know the bugs bunny connection then!) so i better keep it that way in case i end up liking it". i still do not listen to wagner unless it is inflicted on me --- Debussy understood that a work of art, or any effort to create beauty was always regarded by some people as a personal attack ...
