You know, I am curious who will be Godzilla's opponent in the next movie. When you look at the villains in the Godzilla universe, King Ghidorah is number one and Mechagodzilla is a close second. But who's number three?
- Gigan has been in three films, but has always been treated like a B-player despite being Ghidorah's tag team partner. (I love you, Gigan, but you know it's true.)
- Hedorah was one of the strongest foes of the Showa series, and the first villainous monster to score a victory over a heroic Godzilla, but he hasn't had a proper film return unless you count the short film from last year.
- Biollante is like the Andre the Giant of the monsters, and she even shares the same DNA as Godzilla, but she hasn't been seen since her 1989 debut.
- Space Godzilla was designed to be Godzilla's ultimate foe -- and to date is the only one to
just straight up kick his ass and leave him laying -- but his film was arguably the weakest of the Heisei series and we haven't seen him since. - Destroyah brought the Heisei series to an end. Again, a no show in all subsequent films.
- Orga had that "Next Big Thing" presence about him in his film debut, but... HE HASN'T BEEN SEEN SINCE!!
Any one of those six monsters would INSTANTLY become the number three Godzilla villain if he or she returned for the next film in the Legendary series.
