Their satire was less politics-focused and was based more on American culture and religion (hence their name). But then they blew up on social media and got big for their breeches. Then they started focusing more on politics. And then Republicans found out a Christian-themed, vaguely right-leaning website was actually doing well and latched on and became their primary fanbase.
