TopicAnyone ever had back surgery?

Not quite the same, but my dad had back surgery where he had two vertebrae fused due to arthritic pain.

Surgery itself was simple enough. The aftercare was the stressful part since he couldnt bend over for nearly 6 months. I helped arrange everything he needed for food and snacks on elevated tables/counters as well as containers for clothes so he could stand straight up while getting anything he needed. Included a mini fridge and microwave as well.

I also helped him get a powered recliner with lumbar support since he couldnt lie down to sleep. After 5-6 months he was able to slowly start leaning slightly and go for walks, but until then, it was pretty much around the clock care.
