In fairness to him, I think "keys to the Disney Kingdom" is a bit of a stretch. I imagine the reason the story does focus so much on original characters is that Disney is more than a little draconian about what they can and cannot do. It's been suggested that the Frozen world was actually supposed to have Elsa as the main villain, but Disney said no. That would explain some of the weird shit there like a villain with lightning powers trapping you into an ice dungeon.

When I say keys to the Disney kingdom Im aware they arent free to do whatever the hell they want, theyre very protective of their IP.

And yet that right there is my point. The fact that they even could make a game with all the characters and worlds they were given. Even if it was directly movie scenes recreated for the game, it still was amazing to see. And have their own blend of Japanese storytelling and characters merged in there is so unique and interesting.

There needed to be some glue to build off of, connect these worlds and create a story that Disney wouldnt have shot down or took their own control of. Its just such a damn shame that the glue be so moronic and convoluted that it completely tarnished the whole idea. I would never recommend Kingdom Hearts to the millions of casual Disney fans because of all that BS.
