The main gimmick with that fight that I could notice is that it has a Vicar Amelia-style heal if you leave it alone for too long. And just like Amelia, you're supposed to rush it and counter the heal through equivalent damage, which isn't too much trouble to do by the time you can actually even reach Nokron. Other than that one thing, I haven't seen any transformation either - it was the same ol' moose with the same ol' pattern, except with a heal.
