Why would you want to be come a school teacher? Shit pay with no raises unless you "further your education" and even then its not worth paying thousands to a university for a marginally higher salary, getting shit on by the parents all the time when their precious angel did terrible on an assignment or was rude in class and was punished, have to deal with shitty little kids, have to deal with an inept state government when it comes to education, etc. Everyone all says its because they "love children" or "love teaching", but many teachers have left the profession within five years (nearly 50 percent!). Mainly for the reasons I pointed out above. Its hilarious to me that you need all this schooling and all these certifications and take all these praxis exams to teach some 10 year old about fucking Magellan, but to teach a major requirement college class (imparting knowledge that MIGHT actually be used by the student in the workforce), all you need is a degree in the same subject, one higher level then you're teaching. That's it.

Sorry for the rant, I've known several teachers who all quit after only a few years. Most of them during covid due how their state handled everything, but others because of the other things I mentioned.

But, we make new babies every day so I guess somebody has to do it. Might as well be somebody who can tolerate it or at least enjoy teaching, even if it is in a terrible fucked up system.
