Oh God, this is exactly the problem I have with the MC Alm from Fire Emblem Gaiden.

But the whole "We're too good to kill Hitler!" trope is dumb as well. Especially when you had no problem slaughtering wave after wave of mook, but no suddenly we have to play pacifist when it comes to the guy who wants to murder billions. Because it's only murder when they have a name!

I'm probably in the minority here in that I actually like harems. When I became older though, there are some things I've grown a distaste for.

1. The super abusive and violent types. Like they'll beat the shit out of the MC over little to no provocation, not even giving them a chance to explain themselves.

2. A harem that's predetermined from the very beginning. You could have over a dozen of attractive, interesting, and well written girls who all have a ton of chemistry with the MC. But go fuck yourself, he's only interested in the 'Main Girl' who he once talked to in kindergarten. She'll spend 80% of her screen time abusing him, but in the end she'll have a bun in her oven while the rest of the girls get cucked.

3. No one knows how to knock.
