I been playing shooters on hard to the hardest setting while immediately turning off autoaim and do fine. So, I dunno why you think what you're saying is accurate. Difficulty is also relative, so I don't really know where else this convo could go tho. You think it's too hard on console and I don't. That's kind of just what it'll be. I started off with a reasonable compromise and really can't go anywhere else if you can't accept it

Auto aim is not the same as aim assist. The far majority of shooters do not give you an option to turn off the latter.

Auto aim is when you hold the aim button and it snaps to an enemy. COD being a big example for this. Aim assist slows down your reticule when aiming over enemies. The latter has been almost a universal thing for console shooters since the first Halo and is an outright requirement. You probably just don't notice it.
