Lol I haven't found this to be true in my case at all, most people either don't give a fuck if you play games or they share an interest in it and be like "oh that's cool, what do you play? I grew up with Nintendo/playstation" or some shit like that. Especially with the late 20s to 30s folks. And honestly I'm not telling you how to live your life or anything but if you're here then I'm assuming that you do some gaming or have an interest in it, and if that's the case then why do you want to fuck with people that look down on something you like to do?
