It's weird how internet content is set to such a different standard than anything else. A show that's been on TV for fifteen years and still gets pretty good ratings would absolutely be seen as a success. When he started the AVGN in the mid 00s he was essentially the big fish in the small pond of Internet video content creators. His film making skills were top tier for Internet video makers at the time (even though they would be considered basic today).
