I never bothered to watch the Netflix adaptation because my memories of the book were so good. Dark, gritty, mind-bending stuff. Stephen King and fuck anyone who judges me for it - The Shining and Misery Misery is great. Salem's Lot and Pet Sematary are also great if you want something scary/thrilling. 11/22/63 is a time-travel masterpiece with tons of heart and suspense. Pynchon - The Crying of Lot 49 - Everyone files Pynchon under postmodern and intricate but I also found this one very funny. I read this one in college. Much more accessible than Gravity's Rainbow if you want to try Pynchon. Another cool/weird book I read in college... Remainder by Tom McCarthy. It's about a guy who wins a ton of money and uses it to perfectly recreate a specific moment in his past.
