I mean I was born into it I've be out for almost 20 years now and have healthy relationships with my folks and sister and brother in law. I have no animosity towards what my parents did. And I hope my children will forgive my mistakes as an adult too. Edit: I may have discarded the religion. But the life I grew up around and the friends I had, and memories I have are all worth it. Religion is only as important as an individual makes it. When I realized I was just going through the motions as I reached my 20's I realized if I don't believe this is the truth than why stick with it? --- I think I need a drink.
