Most overhyped hurricane in American history? Not trying to be insensitive but from the reports coming in, it does sound like nothing catastrophic happened, fortunately thank goodness. The hurricane missed Key West, it missed Miami, it missed Orlando, it missed Tampa, now it's down to Category 1 and about to be downgraded from hurricane to tropical storm.

Insurance stocks rose sharply last Friday. Maybe Wall Street can predict hurricanes better than professional meteorologists? After all, they're the ones betting with their money.

As someone who works with NOAA in the weather industry, it is their job to prepare for the worst possible scenario within a certain range. It could have just as easily been absolutely devastating according to every simulation and calculation done. They will regret nothing.
