You should spend enough to show you care enough to make some sacrifices for her, but "providing" for someone in an ongoing sense (and not just in case of misfortune where she has no other option, like being laid off or injured) is not a mandatory thing for another adult in this age in America. But some people don't have the same values and societal expectations, especially if they're from other cultures. Ultimately, it's your decision to make, but you're not in the wrong if you demand that you maintain separate finances or split costs equally.
