Unless these powerful storms become a trend, you really can't point at this one event specifically and say that it's because of global warming.

How many such events will it take to convince you?

That's irrelevant. It's impossible to prove a causal link so you can't say climate change caused Irma, even if you could say it makes storms like Irma more likely.
