But she doesn’t have any fears today, thanks to a Good Samaritan who used his own money and skills to fix the problem. After she contacted a local television station for help, they produced a story to broadcast Lynda Tennette’s predicament. One of their viewers envisioned the perfect solution and purchased a new double-sided mailbox and showed up at her home with his tools. Wesley Benton, owner of Benton Home Improvement in Richmond, was moved by the story especially because his own great-grandmother was hit by a car while crossing the street to pick up her mail. He installed the easy-access mailbox and got to meet Lynda, who thought the new box was really neat. “I’m just shocked,” Ms. Tennette said. “Can I give you a hug for doing this for me.” “It really puts some faith back in the world,” she told WTVR News.
