I agree that Android is getting better. IPhones are still easier to use but the gap is narrowing. Even Android tablets are gradually getting better. They haven't caught up yet but Apple isn't improving much.

I'm starting to wonder if this will be a repeat of what happened to Apple in the 90s without Steve Jobs. They started with technology that was worlds above the competition but then Microsoft kept integrating all their good ideas, and Apple stopped coming up with new good ones.

I remember having a talk with a fellow nerd who was a Mac fan after Windows 95 came out and he was like "why do people want it? They totally copied Apple for everything."

And I was like "Why would they not? Who cares whether they thought of it first? If Microsoft has all the things that used to make Macs better, and they're cheaper, and they have more software and games, nobody cares if they copied the other guys."

Apple probably would have gone out of business if Jobs hadn't come back a few years later too straighten the company out then come up with real new technology.

If Apple keeps coasting on their great ideas from 10 years ago eventually they will be left in the cold as other companies figure out how to do that and more.
