Yep, I blanched them then fried them twice, turned out well but I'll use better potatoes next time.

also I really hate when people use cups as a measurement


It's annoying but by a happy accident I have american cups so it's usually fine. The measurements weren't so important anyway, it's just basically a marinade so you can eyeball the soy sauce and syrup.

Have you tried roasting the wings instead of frying them twice? Whenever I make wings at home I always bake them and they come out amazing.


I usually do roast them, they turn out great but it's a very different kind of great. Very moist and soft with a bit of roasted crispiness. This was more like the wings were candied, super crunchy on the outside but still moist inside.
