Uhhh...yeah that sounds good to me. It's crazy that people think this sounds awful.
I've always found it weird how a lot of conservatives don't view America's rights/protections as an actual good thing but rather as a weird form of wealth. As in, they're not valuable in-and-of themselves; they're valuable because you have rights and someone else doesn't. It leads to weirdness like this, as well as the nonsense where the Constitution is only good as long as it's helping Americans and as soon as it helps an illegal immigrant it's a bad thing. Like it would lose all its virtue if it was applied to the world, because it's not a statement on human rights, it's just a way of institutionalizing better treatment for "us" as compared to "them".
It's even weirder when they feel the need to specify that they are GOD GIVEN rights, not given to us by the Government.
So God gave these rights to Americans only? That's convenient! ---
