You've played Dark Souls, yes? Other than the differences in theme (European gothic horror vs medieval themed), you should know that Dark Souls forces you to memorize, strategize, and be patient. Bloodborne forces you to be aggressive and attack, not sit back and defend.

It's part of the reason why I don't use shields. I find them a crutch in Dark Souls, so I'd rather get better at dodging and soaking damage until I'm good enough to no longer soak damage. Only time I use them is to parry shit.
