That's a modem, which needs to be plugged into the wall for power. What TC is talking about is the cord that comes from that box to your computer, which you don't need because of wireless Internet. It's great if you have great Internet, but if you don't, you're far better off getting the cord

So it still has to come out of the big white cord that screws into the wall. Who gives a shit if the rectangle connects to the computer or not...
