Yeah, it's insane thinking that a self contained story which is clearly what the creators wanted to tell doesn't need prequels and sequels.
...The thinking that that just because you know what happens to certain characters means that a prequel is unnecessary is what was being talked about. So what? We finally get some answers regarding Rachel and I guarantee that's what a lot of people were interested in.
Bingo. Some people are so weird with how closed minded they are regarding BUT WE KNOW THE ENDING!!!
The story isn't necessary but its cool to explore the characters further and the fact we know their later fate is irrelevant.
It isn't about necessity or prior knowledge of how it all ends. Hell, literally everyone knows how stories like Titanic or Der Undergang end. It's about money and tacked on stories in order to facilitate making more of it. It's about someone wanting to share their creation with the world and people demanding more even though the story that needed telling, was told. It's about the creator's heart not being in it and it rarely delivers a good story. Prequel to 300, anyone? Now that isn't always the case, but the number of terrible prequels and sequels because of fan demand and $$$ far exceed the good ones.
Have you even played it? It doesnt feel like a cash grab. Its got the same atmoaphere of the first game and feels right ---
