where you say that it's not true regardless of age. Which says you think scummy things happen more often to teens when they're with an older person. Whatever the older person's age happens to be.

Adults have life experience in their side. Teens do not, not on the same level. That playing field is skewed and often exploitative. Take it from someone that was a teen girl dating an adult, and also had several friends dating adults in high school. It seemed cool then and feels gross now thinking about the adults that would do that. Like if a 25 year old friend said he was seeing a 16 year old here it would be legal. But it would feel wrong and I'd think so much less of him.

I just want to be clear that I know it happens. I'm just trying to say that exploitation happens at all ages. For example, I know a girl who was dating a 19 year old when she was like 25 or 26, he exploited her despite being younger than her. It happens at all ages. That's all I'm trying to say.

Because they do. When a 16 year old dates a 30+ year old, or even a 25 year old, that's not just an age gap, that's a hugely imbalanced dynamic of power.

And that's also something that happens at all ages.
