Anything can change during that time so I thought waiting would be better. Any competent university has a list of courses and the required / optional books uploaded to the university bookstore website like, weeks in advance. I won't deny that the current college textbook industry is straight exploiting students, but that's the truth right now. Find the required books and make sure you have those on day 1 (whether through the bookstore or Chegg or amazon or w/e is up to you). The optional ones are usually not as important or not used until later in the semester (if at all). --- Not changing this sig until Pat Benatar is in Super Smash Bros. (Started 8/31/2010) ...
