It is hardly a points scoring stunt. Literally you'd rather have a guy who purposely killed millions of native Americans over a person who stands for literal freedom. I can wager a guess as to why that is. You can't change history just because it's ugly. You're judging people in the past by today's standards. So what happens if we get rid of all the racist people from American history. We take them off our money, we remove them from our books, we destroy their statues etc. What ? Do we destroy Mt Rushmore next? What's the end goal? Of course we keep them in books, we need to learn who they were and why they are evil. And yes, anyone who owned people should be removed from statues and the like. It goes very clearly against our nations claim of freedom. Nobody besides a fringe minority of people look at their money or statues and think "wow I can really relate and respect him/her for all the horrible shit they've done". They value the accomishmemts of those people that benefited society. You wouldn't be here today in America if it wasn't for those people. MLK was a racist and a homophobic. Should we destroy anything that has his image? What about the Stalin statues? Mt Rushmore would have to go too and I bet you would love that. --- Listen to my story... This...
